  • A soybean cultivar ‘Yonpoong’ which has safety high yield for double cropping system introduced winter forage crop was released by agricultural resource research institute of ARES, Gyeunggi Province in 2010. The goals of breeding were for large seed size, high yield, and resistance to disease such as spotting disease. ‘Yonpoong’ was derived from the cross of ‘Suwon 191’, which large seed size and high yield, and ‘Suwon 126’, which early maturity cultivar, and short stem. The preliminary, advanced and regional yield trials for evaluation and selection were carried out from 2005 to 2010. ‘Yonpoong’ has a determinate growth habit with purple flower, grey pubescence, brown pod color, yellow seed coat, yellow cotyledon, elongated seed shape, large seed size(28.7 g per 100 seeds). The maturing date was sept. 22. Tofu yield was similar to that of check cultivar ‘Daewonkong’. The average yield of ‘Yonpoong’ was 3.34 MT/ha in the regional yield trials(RTY) carried out in Korea from 2008 to 2010 which 38 percent higher than the check cultivar ‘Daewonkong’.

콩의 자급률은 1965년도에 100%를 자급한 이래 지속적이 고 급격한 농경지 감소로 2013년도에는 7.9%였고, 식용 콩 자급률은 30.7%(MAFRA. 2014)로 낮아져 자급기반이 심각 한 위협을 받고 있는 상황이다. 이는 산업화 및 도시화에 따 른 농경지 감소와 단위면적당 소득이 경제작물에 비하여 낮 기 때문이다. 그러함에도 불구하고 콩은 식물단백질 공급원뿐 만 아니라 지력 유지작물로 반드시 필요한 작물이기도 하다.
콩은 단백질, 지방뿐만 아니라 각종 무기물을 다량 함유하 고 있어 우리 식생활에 꼭 필요한 건강식품이다. 특히 1999년 에 미국에서는 “콩 단백질을 1일 25 g 섭취하면 심혈관계 질 환을 감소시킬 수 있다.”고 soy protein claim을 선포(FDA 1999)한 이후 세계적으로 건강식품으로 각광을 받고 있다.
우리나라의 2014년도 콩 가공제품의 시장규모는 총 2조 5600억 원인데, 장류 1조 1478억 원, 두부류 5157억 원, 두유 3408억 원, 대두유 5556억 원이었다(MFDS. 2015). 이중 대두 유와 두유는 전량 수입 콩을 이용하고 있고 장류와 두부는 수입 콩과 국산 콩을 원료로 하고 있다. Biosafety 2015년 4월호에 의하면, 2014년 12월 기준으로 LMO 콩의 식품용으로 RRS (40-3-2) 등 20종이 승인되었고, 이로 인해 합법적으로 LMO 콩이 우리식탁에 오를 수 있게 되었다. 우리 국민의 보건을 위해 다수성 국산콩 생산을 통한 자급률 개선이 어느 때보다 필요한 시기이다.
국산 콩의 자급률을 높이고 중북부지역의 농가가 콩 재배 의욕을 갖게 하기 위해서는 무엇보다도 수량성이 높은 품종 개발이 필요하고 조사료의 생산량 부족으로 많은 어려움을 겪고 축산농가에게 값싼 조사료 공급으로 경영개선을 할 수 있도록 동계 사료작물과 연계할 수 있는 콩 신품종 개발이 절 실하다. 기후변화에 따라 지속적이고 반복적인 한발, 고온 및 집중강우 환경에서도 안전하게 재배할 수 있는 재해 저항성 콩 신품종의 개발도 절실한 시점이다(Koo et al. 2014). 그리 고 미래에 발생될 것으로 예상되는 식량난의 주원인은 지구 온난화에 따른 자연재해로 인한 생산량 감소로 분석되고 있 는데, 이를 극복하기 위해서는 온난화에 따른 가뭄, 고온 등 급격한 기후변화로부터 오는 다양한 환경스트레스에 대한 강 한 저항성 특성을 보유한 새로운 품종을 개발함으로써 식량 난을 미리 대비해야 한다(Chung et al. 2013).
따라서 경기도농업기술원에서는 콩 가공업체와 재배농가 가 함께 만족할 수 있는 대립이며 이모작 재배 적응성이 높으 며 현재 보급종 품종인 대원콩보다 재배기간이 짧고 수량성 이 높은 품종을 육성하기 위해 대립이며 다수성인 ‘수원191 호’를 모본으로, 조생종이며 경장이 짧은 ‘수원 196호’를 부 본으로 하여 교배하여 선발한 결과, ‘연풍’을 육성하게 되었 으며 그 육성경위와 주요특성을 보고하는 바이다.
본 연구는 1999년에 대립이며 황색 종피이며 다수성인 ‘수 원191호’를 모본으로 하고 경장이 짧고 조생종인 ‘수원196호’ 를 부본으로 교배되었다. 2000년도에 F1을 양성하고, 2001년 도에 F2는 집단선발을, 2002 ~ 2004년도에 F3 ~ F5세대를 계 통육종법으로 선발한 HS982-B-1-1-2-2 계통에 대해 생산력 검정시험을 수행하였고, 계통명은 ‘연천3호’이다. 이 계통에 대해 2008년부터 2010년까지 3년간 경기도내 연천, 용인, 양 평 등 3개 지역에서 수행하였고, 비교품종으로는 장류용 콩인 대원콩과 비교 검토하였다. 파종은 5월 25일에, 재식거리는 70 × 15 cm로 하였다, 솎음작업은 제1본엽기에 건전한 개체 1주 2본으로 하였다. 내병성 검정은 5월 상순에 노지에 콩을 파종하여 콩 모자이크바이러스와 불마름병의 자연 이병율을 조사하였고 검은뿌리썩음병은 상습발생지에 파종하여 이병 정도를 비교 조사하였다. 저항성 검정을 위해 콩모자이크바이 러스 G5, G6H, G7H 균계를 유모기에 즙액 접종하고 불마름 병은 8 ra를 분무접종하여 병징의 발현을 조사하였다. 내습성 검정은 1/5000 a 와그너 폿트를 이용하여 개화기에 10일동안 침수처리를 한 후 대조구에 대한 침수구의 생육 지연정도를 비교하여 등급화하였다. 협 개열성 정도는 성숙꼬투리를 40℃ 건조기에 48시간 둔 후 꼬투리의 개열정도를 조사하였다. 종 자의 단백질과 지방함량은 Kjeldahl과 Soxlet법으로 정량하였 으며 지방산 조성은 GC(7890A, Agillent, USA)로 아이소플 라본 함량은 UPLC(ACQUITYTM, Waters, USA)측정하였다. 두부를 제조하여 물성분석기(Ta PLUS, KORINSTECH, UK)를 사용하여 물리적 특성을 조사하였다. 기타 시비관리, 생육특성과 메주 및 청국장 특성 등의 조사는 농촌진흥청 신 품종개발공동사업계획서의 기준에 준하여 실시하였다.
육성경위
장류 및 두부용 신품종인 ‘연풍’은 국립식량과학원 기능성 작물부에서 1999년에 대립이며 황색 종피이며 다수성인 ‘수 원191호’를 모본으로 하고 경장이 짧고 조생종인 ‘수원196 호’를 부본으로 교배되었다. 인공교배부터 계통선발, 생산력 검정 시험, 지역적응 시험을 거치는 일련의 육종과정은 Fig. 1과 같다. 2000년도에 F1을 양성하고, 2001년도에 F2는 집단 선발을, 2002 ~ 2004년도에 F3 ~ F5세대를 계통육종법으로 조숙이고 대립이며 다수성으로 유망한 계통이 선발되었다. 선 발된 HS982-B-1-1-2-2 계통은 2005년에 실시한 예비선발 시 험, 2006 ~ 2007년에 생산력검정시험을 거쳤으며, 연천3호의 계통명으로 선발되었다. 2008부터 2010년까지 3년간 경기도 연천, 용인, 양평 등3개소에서 3개년 3개소에서 지역적응시험 이 실시되었다. 지역적응시험을 수행하는 동안에 연천3호의 재배과정에서의 주요특성이 조사되었는데, 도복, 습해, 한발 등에 대한 내재해성과 콩 모자이크바이러스병 등을 비롯한 내병충성은 농촌진흥청 조사기준에 따라 검정되었다. 지역적 응시험이 완료된 2011년 1월에 경기도 농작물직무육성 신품 종선정위원회에서 연천3호는 경기지역 적응성 신품종 ‘연풍’ 으로 결정되었다. 주요특성
‘연풍’은 유한 신육형이며, 엽형은 피침형과 능형의 중간형 이고, 꽃색은 자색이며, 모용색은 회색이고, 성숙된 협색은 갈 색이며 종피와 제색은 황색이다. 종실모양은 편구형이며, 협 의 개열성은 난(難) 특성을 보였다(Table 1).

‘연풍’은 대원콩에 비하여 개화 및 성숙기는 각각 10일, 15 일 빠르고 경장은 32 cm 짧았고, 분지수는 비슷하였으며, 주 경절수는 1.0개 적었다. 대원콩보다 협수는 12개 적었으나, 협당립수는 0.9립이 많았고 100립중은 3.6 g 무거운 대립종 이다(Table 2).

‘연풍’은 내재해성에서 담수처리 시 대원콩보다 내습성은 약간 강하였으나, 내한발성은 다소 약한 수준이었다. 내충성 에서는 콩나방 피해립율을 조사한 결과, 대원콩보다 연풍이 다소 높았다(Table 3).

‘연풍’은 내병성에서는 콩 재배과정 중 수량과 품질에 영향 을 크게 미치는 SMV와 검은뿌리썩음병, 불마름병 등에 대해 조사한 결과, SMV의 저항성은 대원콩과 달리 유묘에서는 하 위엽에서 모자이크 반응을 보였으나, 포장에서는 0을 나타내 어 저항성을 보였다(Table 4). 대원콩보다 검은뿌리썩음병의 발병주율은 2.5%로 높은 수준이었고, 점무늬병은 0으로 강하 였다. 불마름병은 유묘검정에서는 대원콩보다 이병성으로 보 였으나, 포장검정에서 0으로 강한 반응을 보였다(Table 5).

‘연풍’은 대원콩보다 조단백질 함량은 36.1%로 1.8% 낮았 고, 조지방 함량은 19.2%로 1% 높았으며, 지방산 조성 중 포 화지방산 비율은 대원콩보다 11.8%로 1.6% 높았으나, 불포 화 지방산 비율은 85.0%로 1.2% 낮았다. ‘연풍’은 대원콩보 다 아이소프라본 함량은 1,667 ㎍/g으로 비슷한 수준이었고, 아미노산 함량은 346.8 mg/100g으로 12.2% 낮았다(Table 6).

가공적성은 두부와 장류를 분석하였는데, ‘연풍’의 두부수 율은 대원콩과 비슷한 수준이었고 두부의 물성인 탄력성, 검 성 및 응집성은 대원콩과 차이가 없었으나, 경도는 낮아 부드 러운 특성을 보였다(Table 7). ‘연풍’은 메주의 발효정도와 풍 취는 대원콩과 같은 수준이었으나, 수율은 대원콩보다 5%로 낮았다. 청국장의 발효정도와 풍취는 대원콩과 비슷한 수준이 나 수율은 대원콩보다 9% 높은 수준이었다(Table 8).

‘연풍’은 2005 ~ 2007년에 걸쳐 실시한 생산력검정시험에 서 ha당 평균수량은 2.90 톤으로 표준품종 대원콩보다 16% 증수하였고(Table 9), 2008 ~ 2010년에 걸쳐 3년간 실시한 지역적응시험 결과, 연천, 양평, 용인 등 3개 지역의 평균수량 은 ha당 3.34톤으로 표준품종 대원콩보다 38% 증수하였다 (Table 10).

‘연풍’의 적응지역은 경기이며, 파종적기는 5월말이며 늦 어도 6월상순까지는 파종을 완료해야 다수확이 가능하다. 배 수불량지에서는 뿌리썩음병과 종피균열이 발생할 우려가 있 으므로 논이나 배수불량한 밭에서 재배할 경우에는 배수로 설치를 반드시 해야 한다. 자주무늬병에 약함으로 적기방제가 요구된다.
‘연풍’은 1999년에 대립이며 황색 종피이며 다수성인 ‘수 원191호’를 모본으로 하고 경장이 짧고 조생종인‘수원196호’ 를 부본으로 교배되었다. 2000년도에 F1을 양성하고, 2001년 도에 F2는 집단선발을, 2002년 ~ 2004년도에 F3 ~ F5세대를 계통육종법으로 선발한 HS982-B-1-1-2-2 계통으로 계통명은 ‘연천3호’이다. ‘연풍’의 주요특성을 요약하면 다음과 같다.
신육형은 유한신육형이며 꽃색은 자색이고, 엽형은 피침형 과 능형의 중간형이며, 모용색은 회색이고, 종실모양은 편구 형이며, 제색과 종피색은 황색이고 협색은 갈색이고 협은 성 숙 후에도 잘 개열되지 않으며, 성숙기는 대원콩보다 15일 빠 른 조중생종이며, 100립중은 28.7 g으로 대립이다. SMV유묘 검정에서는 하위엽에서 모자이크증상을 보였으나, 포장에서 는 0이었다. 검은뿌리썩음병의 발병율은 2.5%였다. 불마름병 유묘 검정에서는 5 정도였으나, 포장에서는 0이었다. 콩나방 은 1.5%였다. 종실의 화학적 성분은 단백질은 36.1%이었는 데 특히 아미노산 함량은 346.8 ㎎/100g, 아이소플라본 함량 은 1,667 ㎍/g으로 대원콩보다 낮았다. 조지방은 19.2%였는 데, 대원콩보다 포화 지방산은 11.8%로 1.6% 높았으나, 불포 화지방산은 85.0%로 1.2% 낮았다.
가공적성에서 두부수률은 대원콩과 비슷한 수준이었으나 두부물리성 중 경도, 검성, 응집성은 비슷한 수준이었으나 경 도는 낮았다. 청국장의 발효 및 풍취는 대원콩보다 우수하였다. 수량성은 대비품종인 대원콩보다 생산력검시험에서는 16% 증 수 되었고, 3개년 간 실시한 지역적응시험에서 3.44 MT/ha으 로 38% 증가하였다(품종보호번호: 제4242호).
