zLocal adaptability trials for early and late planting cultures were conducted 2(2011, 2012) years and 1(2012) year, respectively. The total numbers of trial sites for each culture season are indicated in parenthesis.
yRegions are middle plane (MDP), mid-south mountain (MSM), mid-west coastal (MWC), mid-north middle plain (MMP), north-east coastal (NEC), honam plane (HNP), and Yeongnam plane (YNP).
xCheck varieties for each trial site are indicated as superscripted abbreviation with the mean milled rice yield; ‘Hwaseong’ (hs), ‘Odae’ (od), ‘Jopyeong’ (jp), and ‘Geumo’ (go).
The data set are derived from the replicated yield trial conducted in 2009 at NICS, RDA, Suwon.
Not significant (ns) in the t-test, while * and ** Significant at *P < 0.05 and P < 0.01, respectively.
The experiment was conducted during two years (2009~2010) at National Institute of Crop Science, Suwon (37°16′N, 126°59′E, 37 m altitude), Korea.
Green house was closed after transplanting the seedlings to have high-temperature condition.
Five to seven grams of brown rice per each rice cultivar was used to estimate the head rice percentage by using a near-infrared spectrometric analyzer (FOSS Cervitec 1625 Grain Inspector). Means with the same letter are not significantly different by Duncan’s multiple range test at 5% level.
After checking the heading date for each cultivar, the mean temperature of ripening stage was calculated by averaging the daily mean temperature for 40 days.
The over-all means of three years local adaptability trials (2010~2012) conducted in ‘Suwon’.
Not significant (ns) in the t-test, while * and ** Significant at *P < 0.05 and P < 0.01, respectively.
N fertilizer of blast nursery test = 240 kg/ha
Durability against co-infection of 30 virulent M. grisea isolates during sequential planting (
N fertilizer of neck blast = 220 kg/ha
R: resistance, M: moderately resistance, S: susceptible.
BPH(brown planthopper), WBPH(white-backed planthopper), SBPH(small brown planthopper).
R: resistance, S: susceptible.
Cold tolerance was evaluated by using cold-water (17°C) irrigation nursery in Chuncheon subsbtaion, NICS.
Evaluation at maximum tillering stage (1: toterance; 9: susceptible).
Germination rate under water saturated incubation (17°C) for 7 days on the panicle at 40 days after pollination.
Not significant(ns) in the t-test, while * and ** significant at *P < 0.05 and P < 0.01, respectively.
Evaluated under ordinary transplanting nursery condition, and the evaluation methods was based on
Breaking resistance of the middle point of 3rd internode with leaf sheath.
Length from the lower node of 3rd internode to the top of panicle (fresh weight of upper portion + fresh weight of 3rd internode)
Bending moment / Breaking resistance × 100
