아시아틱 나리 신품종 육성을 위한 다양한 품종간 교잡

Crossing of Asiatic Hybrids for Breeding of New Lily Cultivars

  • This study was conducted to breed interspecific hybrids by crossing between Asiatic hybrids for the purpose of cut flower or pot plant. According to results of reciprocal crossing between L. davidii and ‘Conception’, flower color of F1 appears nearer to that of each male parent but they seemed to be influenced by L. davidii which has side-facing flower position. The characteristic traits of F1 hybrids obtained from the cross between ‘Tresor’ and ‘Black Out’ is related to female parent ‘Tresor’. Whereas in a cross between ‘Navidad’ and ‘Hironde’, a progeny 122611-4 has the petal spot characteristic similar to the female Asiatic hybrid ‘Navidad’ and male parent ‘Gironde’ influence on the petal color. F1 hybrid cross ‘Gironde × Red Sensation’ showed parental flower color expression contribution. In addition ‘Gironde’ as parent contributed extensively in imparting flower color in the resulting hybrids. In the above statements, F1 progenies were more than 40cm in height and the plant height of their parents was over 70cm. Therefore, it is considered that their F1 progenies are not short if parents have a long plant height. In ‘Kotnali × Tiny Bee’ progenies, 112061-1 progeny expressed orange flower color similar to female while 112061-2 showed yellow flower color same as male. Plant height was 27.7cm and 22.4cm close to 35.0cm of male parent ‘Tiny Bee’. F1 hybrid of ‘Matrix × Holebibi’ expressed three flower color all of parents. It was dwarf and distinguishable as compared to parental phenotype. Therefore, it is concluded that for potted lily flower development carrying dwarf plant height and intermediate morphological traits Asiatic hybrids plays an important role such as ‘Tiny Bee’ and ‘Matrix’.

나리는 세계 4대 화훼 작물 중 하나로, 꽃이 크고 화려한 색과 고유의 향기를 갖고 있어 절화, 분화, 정원용 등 다양한 용도로 이용되고 있으며 세계적으로 수요가 높다(Kang et al. 2015). 우리나라에 하늘나리 등 약 10종, 7변종의 아시아틱 나리가 자생 하고 있는 것으로 알려져 있다(Lee 1989, Suh et al. 2012). 아시아틱 나리는 화색이 다양하고 상향 개화하며 식재 후 개화소 요기간은 짧고 개화수명이 길어서 주로 절화용으로 많이 사용되 고 있다. 최근에는 정원용 품종도 육성되고 있다.
백합 육종의 세계적 흐름은 1980년대까지는 다양한 화색을 지닌 Asiatic hybrid가 주도하였으며 그 이후에는 Oriental 및 Longiflorum hybrid가 육성되었다(Ascher 1975, Tuyl JM van 1992). 우리나라에서 나리 육종은 1990년대 초반부터 국립원예 특작과학원에서 본격적으로 시작되어 1998년부터 ‘예지’, ‘혜 화’ 등의 아시아틱 나리 품종들부터 육성되기 시작하였다(Lee et al. 2014). 1998년부터 2009년까지 국내에서 육성된 아시아틱 나리 품종 수는 원예특작과학원의 ‘선유’(Rhee et al. 2000), ‘미르’(Rhee et al. 2001), ‘예나’(Rhee et al. 2005a) 등 36품종, 태안백합시험장의 ‘선샤인’(Lee et al. 2006a), ‘예로우썬’(Lee et al. 2006b) 등 8품종, 전라북도 농업기술원의 ‘아려’(Kim et al. 2005), ‘초롱’ 등 8품종 및 고령지농업연구센터의 ‘다정’(Suh et al. 2007a), ‘환타지아’(Suh et al. 2007b)’, ‘미소’(Suh et al. 2007c) 등 3품종이 육성되었다(Suh et al. 2012). 최근에는 절화 용 뿐만 아니라 화단 및 분화용 나리의 수요가 급증하고 있는 추세이지만, 국내에서 육성한 화단 및 분화용 나리 품종이 전무하 여 화란의 품종이 고가로 대량 수입되고 있는 실정이다(Rhee et al. 2005b).
아시아틱 나리는 교잡부터 선발, 증식, 특성검정 등의 육종과 정을 거쳐 품종이 육성되기까지 약 8년정도 소요되지만(Rhee et al. 2009), 다른 종과 비교하여 교배율이 높아 품종들 간의 교배가 쉽게 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 여러가지 원인으로 인해 국내 육성 품종의 증식 및 보급이 활성화되지 않고 있는 실정이 다. 그 중에서도 분화용 품종의 경우는 대부분이 아시아틱 나리 재배되고 있으나, 품종이 많지 않아 다양한 분화용 품종의 요구가 증가하고 있다(Rhee et al. 2010).
본 연구에서는 아시아틱 나리의 품종 간의 교잡을 통하여 절화용, 분화용 등으로 활용될 수 있는 다양하고 화려한 화색의 아시아틱 나리 품종의 육성 가능성을 알아보고자 하였다.
아시아틱 나리 신품종 육성을 위하여 원종 1종과 국내 육성 품종 1종, 네덜란드에서 수입한 품종 6종 총 8종(Table 1)을 모부본으로 하여 경북대학교 교내 온실에서 2012년 5월에 교배 하였다. 교배의 상세한 정보는 Table 2와 같다. 원종과 품종 (‘Conception’ × L. davidii, L. davidii × ‘Conception’), 품종과 품종(‘Kotnali’ × ‘Tiny Bee’, ‘Matrix’ × ‘Holebibi’, 'Tresor' × 'Black Out', ‘Navidad’ × ‘Gironde’, ‘Gironde’ × ‘Red Sensation’) 을 주두수분으로 교배하였다. 교배한 후 수정되어 비대해진 꼬투 리를 잘라서 배주의 상태를 현미경으로 확인한 다음 배는 Sucrose 60 1/2MS 배지, 배주와 자방절편은 Sucrose 50 MS 배지에 배양하였다. 약 30일 후 배에서 뿌리와 어린 싹이 발생한 개체를 Sucrose 90 MS 배지에 계대배양 하였다. 그 후 90일 간격으로 2회 더 계대배양 한 다음, 교내온실 실습장에서 구근을 식재, 재배하였다. 3년 후 선발한 F1 개체들에 대해서 인편번식을 하여 각각 7개체를 ‘국립종자원 백합 특성조사표’에 따라 양적 9가지, 질적 7가지 항목을 조사하여 모부본과의 특성을 비교 분석하였 다. 용도는 초장길이를 기준으로 하여 40cm 이상은 절화용, 40cm 미만은 화단용으로 구분하였다.

‘Conception’과 L. davidii를 교배하여 육성된 117100(F1)과 모부본에 대한 양적, 질적 형질 특성의 비교분석 결과는 Table 3, 4와 같다. 양적 형질의 경우, 초장, 엽수, 엽장은 작게 나타났으 며, 엽폭, 소화수, 화경장, 외화피장, 외화피폭은 모부본의 중간으 로 나타났다. F1의 개화소요일수는 모부본의 중간으로 나타났다. 질적 형질의 경우, F1의 개화방향은 모부본의 중간 형태인 측향으 로 나타났다. F1의 화색의 경우 외부는 연적색, 내부는 주황색으 로 모본(진적색)과 부본(주홍색)의 화색을 모두 나타내었다(Fig. 1). 약의 색, 암술대 색, 주두 색은 모부본의 중간색으로 나타났다.

L. davidii와 ‘Conception’을 교배하여 육성된 117101(F1)과 모부본에 대한 양적, 질적 형질 특성의 비교분석 결과는 Table 5, 6과 같다. 양적 형질의 경우, 초장과 엽수는 모부본보다 작게 나타났으며, 엽장은 크게 나타났다. 엽폭, 소화수, 화경장, 외화피 장, 외화피폭은 모부본의 중간으로 나타났다. 개화소요일수는 F1이 가장 길게 나타났다. 질적 형질의 경우, F1의 개화방향은 측상향으로 부본인 ‘Conception’의 상향에 가깝게 나타났다. F1의 화색의 경우 외부는 진적색, 내부는 주황색으로 모본(주홍 색)과 부본(진적색)의 화색을 모두 나타내었다(Fig. 2). 약의 색, 암술대 색, 주두 색은 모부본의 중간으로 나타났다. Table 4

‘Tresor’와 ‘Black Out’을 교배하여 육성된 112502-1(F1), 112502-2(F1)에 대한 양적, 질적 형질 특성과 모부본과의 비교분 석 결과는 Table 7, 8과 같다. 양적 형질의 경우, 엽폭은 F1 개체 모두 크게 나타났고, 외화피장, 외화피폭은 112502-2 개체에서 중간으로 나타났다. 초장, 엽장, 소화수, 화경장은 F1 개체 모두 작게 나타났다. 하지만, 엽수와 엽폭은 ‘Tresor’ 모본과 개체 모두가 비슷하게 나타났고, 개체의 화경장과 외화피폭은 부본 ‘Black out’과 비슷하게 나타났다. 외화피장은 모본 ‘Tresor’과 112502-2 개체, 부본 ‘Black out’과 112502-1 개체와 비슷하게 나타났다. 개화소요일수는 F1 개체 모두 모부본보다 길게 나타났 다. 질적 형질의 경우, 개화방향은 F1 개체 모두 상향으로 나타났다. 화색의 경우 112502-1(F1), 112502-2(F1) 개체들의 각 화피의 외부 색은 모부본 화색의 중간색인 빨강색이지만, 112502-1(F1) 의 화피의 내부 색은 ‘Tresor’(모본)과 유사한 오랜지색으로 나타났고 112502-2(F1)의 화피의 내부 색은 ‘Black out’(부본) 과 유사한 진적색으로 나타났다(Fig. 3). 약의 색, 암술대 색, 주두 색은 모부본보다 짙게 나타났다.

‘Navidad’와 ‘Gironde’을 교배하여 육성된 122611-1(F1), 122611-2(F1), 122611-3(F1), 122611-4(F1)에 대한 양적, 질적 형질 특성과 모부본과의 비교분석 결과는 Table 9, 10과 같다. 양적 형질의 경우, 초장, 엽수, 소화수에서 모부본보다 열성으로 나타났고, 엽장, 화경장은 모부본의 중간으로 나타났다. 엽폭, 외화피장, 외화피폭은 모부본과 비슷하게 나타났다. 개화소요일 수는 모부본보다 비교적 짧게 나타났다. 질적 형질의 경우, 개화 방향은 모두 상향으로 나타났고, 122611-4(F1) 개체만 모본인 ‘Navidad’처럼 점이 있었다. 화색은 개체들 모두 모부본 화색의 중간색을 띠었는데, 122611-1(F1)와 122611-4(F1) 개체의 화색에 서 부본인 ‘Gironde’의 화색이 강한 복색을 나타내었다(Fig. 4). 약의 색, 암술대 색, 주두 색은 모부본의 중간 색을 나타내었다.

‘Gironde’와 ‘Red Sensation’을 교배하여 육성된 122608(F1) 에 대한 양적, 질적 형질 특성과 모부본과의 비교분석 결과는 Table 11, 12와 같다. 양적 형질의 경우, 엽폭, 화경장에서 모부본 보다 비교적 우성으로 나타났고, 초장, 엽수, 소화수에서 열성으 로 나타났다. 엽장은 모부본의 중간으로 나타났고, 외화피장, 외화피폭은 모부본과 비슷하게 나타났다. 개화소요일수는 모부 본보다 길게 나타났다. 질적 형질의 경우, 개화방향은 상향으로 나타났으며 화경에 부본인 ‘Red Sensation’처럼 점이 있었다. 화색은 모부본의 중간 색을 띠었으며, 약의 색, 암술대 색, 주두 색에서 모부본과 비슷한 색으로 나타났다(Fig. 5).

‘Kotnali’와 ‘Tiny bee’를 교배하여 육성된 112061-1(F1), 112061-2(F1)에 대한 양적, 질적 형질 특성과 모부본과의 비교분 석 결과는 Table 13, 14와 같다, 양적 형질의 경우, 화경장, 외화피 장은 112061-2 개체에서 중간으로 나타났고, 외화피폭은 112061-1 개체에서 중간으로 나타났다. 초장, 엽수, 엽장, 엽폭, 소화수는 두 개체 모두 작게 나타났다. 개화소요일수는 모부본보다 길게 나타났다. 질적 형질의 경우, 두 F1 개체의 화색에서 모부본 화색 이 각각 나타난 것이 특징이었다. 112061-1은 ‘Kotnali’(모본)의 화색인 오랜지색을 나타냈고, 112061-2는 ‘Tiny bee’(부본)의 화색인 노랑색을 나타냈다(Fig. 6). 개화방향은 모두 상향으로 나타났다. 약의 색, 암술대 색, 주두 색은 화색의 진함에 따라 달랐는데, 112061-1은 화색인 오랜지색을 따라 모부본보다 짙은 색으로 나타났고, 112061-2는 화색인 노랑색을 따라 모부본과 비슷한 얕은 색으로 나타났다.

‘Matrix’와 ‘Holebibi’를 교배하여 육성된 개체 122432(F1) 에 대한 양적, 질적 형질 특성과 모부본과의 비교분석 결과는 Table 15, 16과 같다. 양적 형질의 경우, 개화소요일수를 제외한 모든 형질에서 모부본보다 열성으로 나타났다. 모부본과 비교하 여 수치가 두 배 이상 작은 것이 특징이었다. 개화소요일수는 모부본보다 중간으로 나타났다. 질적 형질의 경우, 개화방향은 모두 상향으로 나타났다. 화색의 경우, F1는 화피 외부는 빨강색, 화피 내부는 오렌지색을 나타내는 모본과 화피 외부는 보라색, 내부는 흰색을 나타내는 부본의 화색 구성형태를 그대로 이루면 서 모부본의 중간색을 나타내었다. 그러므로 F1의 화색은 화피 외부는 분홍색, 화피 내부는 흰색과 노랑색으로 모부본의 삼색을 모두 나타내었다(Fig. 7). 약의 색은 모부본보다 진한 색을 띠었 으며, 자방은 있었지만 암술대는 없는 돌연변이를 나타낸 것 또한 다른 개체들과는 다른 특징이었다.

본 연구에서는 아시아틱 나리의 품종 간의 교잡을 통하여 절화용, 분화용 등으로 활용될 수 있는 다양하고 화려한 화색의 아시아틱 나리 품종의 육성 가능성을 알아보고자 하였다.
L. davidii와 ‘Conception’을 정역교배한 F1의 특성을 비교 분석한 결과, 양적 질적 형질은 모부본의 중간을 나타내었다. 단, 모부본보다 초장은 2배 이상, 엽수는 5배 이상 작게 나타났다. 화색의 경우 117101(F1)은 진적색으로 ‘Conception’(부본), 117100(F1)은 연적색으로 L. davidii(모본)의 화색에 가깝게 나 타나는 것으로 보아 화색은 모부본 양쪽을 복색으로 가지고 있지만 부본의 영향을 비교적 많이 받은 것으로 생각되었다(Fig. 1, Fig. 2). L. lancifolium, L. davidii 등 원산지가 중국인 아시아틱 나리의 경우 부본으로 교배를 하면 수정장애가 발생하여 교배 시 부본보다 모본으로 주로 사용되고 있다(Li Jie et al. 2013). 그러나 본 실험의 정역교배 결과 117100(F1)의 경우 L. davidii가 부본이었으나 수정되었다. 이러한 결과로부터 L. davidii와 다른 아시아틱 나리와의 교잡을 통해 신품종의 가능성이 있는 것으로 판단되었다.
112502-1(F1), 112502-2(F1) 개체들의 특성 형질은 모본인 ‘Tresor’의 특성 형질과 비교적 유사하게 나타났다. 경남농업기 술원화훼연구소에서 육성한 조‧ 중생종 오렌지색 아시아틱 나리 ‘Orange Party’(‘Lenora’ × ‘Tresor’)는 부본인 ‘Tresor’의 화색 인 오렌지색과 비슷하게 나타났다(Bae et al. 2012). 이런 결과로 부터 정역교배나 ‘Tresor’을 모본으로 하여 다른 품종과의 교배 실험을 통해 ‘Tresor’의 유전력이 강한지 추가적인 연구가 필요 하다고 판단되었다.
‘Gironde’가 부본인 122611-1(F1), 122611-2(F1), 122611-3(F1), 122611-4(F1) 개체들과 ‘Gironde’가 모본인 122608(F1) 개체들 의 화색에서 모두 모부본의 중간색을 보이거나 ‘Gironde’의 화색인 노랑색이 부분적으로 나타나는 것으로 보아 ‘Gironde’의 화색의 특성에 대한 유전이 강한 것으로 생각되었다(Fig. 4, Fig. 5).
위의 F1 개체들의 초장은 45~70cm로 절화용에 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 이들의 모부본의 초장은 70cm 이상으로 모부본의 초장 길이가 길면 F1 개체의 초장도 길게 나타나는 것으로 사료된다.
‘Kotnali × Tiny bee’의 F1 개체인 112061-1, 112061-2는 양 적, 질적 형질에 있어서 부본인 ‘Tiny Bee’의 특성 형질과 유사하 게 나타났다. 특히 초장이 각각 27.7cm, 22.4cm로 53.0cm인 모본 ‘Kotnali’에 비해서 ‘Tiny Bee’의 초장 길이인 32.0cm와 비슷하였다. ‘Little Green Star’는 초장이 25cm 이하이고 꽃 수는 5.8개로(Lee et al. 2011), 112061-1(F1), 112061-2(F1) 개체 또한 초장이 30cm 이하로 꽃 수를 늘리는 육종이 가능하다 면 분화용으로 우수한 특성을 가지고 있다고 판단되었다.
복색(백색+분홍색)의 OT계통 ‘Altari’ 품종과 분홍색의 오리 엔탈계통 ‘Solaia’을 화주 절단에 의해 종간교배를 하여 얻은 ‘Morning Bell’ 품종은 화색이 복색(백색+ 분홍색)으로 나타났 다(Lee et al. 2016). 본 실험의 아시아틱 나리 교배 품종의 화색은 모부본의 중간색을 띄거나 모부본의 화색을 전부 나타냈 으며 색의 구성 또한 화려했다. 특히 ‘Matrix’와 ‘Holebibi’를 교배하여 육성된 개체 122432(F1)의 화색은 삼색으로 모부본의 화색을 모두 나타냈으며(Fig. 7), 초장 길이는 12.2cm로 이번 교배 실험을 통하여 육성된 개체 중 초장 길이가 가장 작았다. 이와 같이 초장이 짧고 화색이 화려하여 분화용으로 적합하다고 판단되었다. 화단 및 분화용 나리로 육성된 ‘Orange Ring Star’ 의 화색은 진노랑에 링모양의 오렌지색을 띄고 있었다(Lee et al. 2012). 그러므로 ‘Matrix’와 ‘Holebibi’ 간의 더 많은 교잡을 통하여 육성된 많은 F1들의 조사가 필요하다고 사료된다
본 실험에서 각 모부본을 교잡하여 얻은 F1의 화색은 모부본의 중간으로 나타났다. 아시아틱 교배 품종 ‘Apricot King’(Rhee et al. 2008a)의 화색은 옅은 오렌지색으로, 모본인 ‘Orlando’의 오렌지색과 부본인 ‘Corrida’의 핑크색을 띤 노랑색의 중간색을 나타내었다. FA 종간교배종 ‘Fanfare’(Rhee et al. 2008b)의 화색은 아시아틱 나리의 화형을 보이는 모본 ‘FA97-30(Lilium formolongi ‘Raizan’ × Asiatic NHRI-A61)’의 옅은 노랑색과 부본인 아시아틱 나리 ‘Sanzio’의 선홍색의 중간색인 붉은 분홍 색(Redish Pink)으로 나타났다. 그러므로 시장에서 인기가 많은 화색을 조사하여 원하는 화색의 아시아틱 백합 품종을 얻을 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 또한 본 실험에서 초장이 작은 모부본 을 사용할 경우 F1의 초장 또한 작았고, 모부본의 소화수가 각각 최소 두 개 이상 있었지만 F1들의 소화수는 대부분 한 개였다. 물론 본 실험에서는 F1들의 표본이 작아 단정지을 수는 없다. 하지만 분화용을 개발하기 위해 초장이 40cm 내외로 짧은 품종 을 모부본으로 고려하고 많은 소화수를 가지는 F1 육성을 위해서 소화수가 많은 품종을 모부본으로 선택하면, 초장이 짧고 소화수 가 많은 다양한 화색의 화단 및 분화용 품종일 가능성이 크다고 판단된다.
본 연구에서는 아시아틱 나리의 품종 간 교잡을 통하여 절화, 분화용으로 활용할 수 있는 품종 육성의 기능성을 알아보고자 하였다. L. davidii와 ‘Conception’의 정역교배 결과, F1 개체들의 화색은 부본의 화색에 가깝게 나타났으나 측향 개화하는 등 원종인 L. davidii의 영향을 많이 받은 것으로 나타났다. 'Tresor' × 'Black Out'으로부터 선발된 F1 개체들의 특성 형질은 ‘Tresor’ 의 특성 형질과 비교적 유사하게 나타났다. ‘Navidad’ × ‘Gironde’ 으로부터 선발된 F1 개체들 중 122611-4 개체만 모본인 ‘Navidad’ 처럼 점이 나타났으며, 화색은 모부본의 중간색이나 부본인 ‘Gironde’의 화색인 노랑색이 비교적 많이 나타났다. ‘Gironde’ × ‘Red Sensation’으로부터 선발된 F1 개체의 화색 또한 모부본의 중간색으로 나타났다. ‘Gironde’가 부본인 F1 개체들과 ‘Gironde’ 가 모본인 F1 개체의 화색은 모부본의 중간색을 보이거나 ‘Gironde’의 화색인 노랑색이 부분적으로 나타나는 것으로 보아 ‘Gironde’의 화색의 특성에 대한 유전이 강한 것으로 나타났다. 위의 개체들의 초장은 40cm 이상이었으며 이들 모부본의 초장 은 70cm 이상으로, 이는 모부본의 초장 길이가 길면 F1 개체의 초장도 길게 나타나는 것으로 생각된다. ‘Matrix’ × ‘Holebibi’ 으로부터 선발한 F1 개체는 화색이 화려했으며 초장은 작았다. ‘Kotnali’ × ‘Tiny Bee’으로부터 선발한 F1 개체 112061-1은 모본의 화색인 오랜지색을 나타냈고, 112061-2는 부본의 화색인 노랑색을 나타냈다. 초장은 각각 27.7cm, 22.4cm 로 부본인 ‘Tiny Bee’와 유사하게 나타났다. 이와 같이 ‘Tiny Bee’, ‘Matrix’ 등의 초장이 작은 품종을 교배에 사용하면 왜성용 분화용 나리 개발 가능성이 큰 것으로 판단되었다.
