  • Watermelons are grafted to prevent soil-borne diseases such as Fusarium wilt (FW) and increase their resistance to abiotic stress. Root-knot nematodes (RKN) are a contributing factor to economic loss in several cucurbits, including watermelon. Growing resistance varieties is an effective way to reduce the damage caused by soil-borne diseases. Resistance evaluation was performed on 50 watermelon lines to select rootstocks resistant to FW and RKN. Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum race 2 was inoculated into 10-day-old seedlings using a root dipping method, and resistance was evaluated for four weeks. The 37-day-old watermelon seedlings were inoculated with Meloidogyne incognita and evaluated 60 days later. Three lines (IT199860, PI296341-6, and PI532811) were resistant to FW race 2, while one line (PI494527) was moderately resistant. Three lines (PI296341-5, PI457916-2, and PI457916-5) were RKN resistant. The PI296341-6 line was selected for its resistance to FW and moderate resistance to RKN. These findings imply that the identified resistant lines can be used in rootstock breeding programs against FW and/or RKN.

수박[Citrullus lanatus (Thunb.) Matsum. & Nakai]은 여름철 대표 과일로 세계적으로 널리 이용되는 채소이다. 수박은 시설 재배의 증가로 연중 재배가 가능하며, 덩굴쪼김병 등의 토양전염성병을 방제하고자 대부분 접목 재배를 하고 있다(King et al. 2008, Jang et al. 2019). 한국, 일본, 대만 등지에서는 수박의 접목 재배는 약 95%에 이를 정도로 보편화 되어있으며, 토양 살균제인 메틸브로마이드 사용이 금지됨에 따라 대안으로 접목 재배에 대한 관심이 늘어나고 있다(Davis et al. 2008, Lee et al. 2010). 접목 재배는 토양전염성병의 방제 뿐만아니라 저온, 고온, 건조 등 비생물적 스트레스에 대한 저항성 증진을 목적으로 활용되고 있다(Davis et al. 2008, King et al. 2008, Schwarz et al. 2010).
수박 덩굴쪼김병은 Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum에 일어나는 병으로 뿌리를 통해 침입하여 지제부나 도관을 막아 식물체를 시들게 하고 줄기가 세로로 쪼개지는 병징을 나타내며 연작을 많이 할수록 병발병율이 증가한다(Park et al. 1996). 덩굴쪼김병은 뿌리에 직접 감염하여 식물체를 침해하므로 방제를 위해 병저항성이 강한 박, 호박 등을 이용하여 접목재배를 해오고 있다(Davis et al. 2008, King et al. 2008).
뿌리혹선충은 수박, 호박, 오이, 토마토, 고추, 가지, 담배, 땅콩, 감자 등 여러 작물을 가해하는 것으로 알려져 있다(Choi & Choo 1978). 뿌리혹선충은 세계적으로 78종이 분포하는 것으로 기록되어 있으며, 국내에서도 고구마 뿌리혹선충(Meloidogyne incognita), 땅콩 뿌리혹선충(M. arenaria), 당근 뿌리혹선충(M. hapla), 자바니카 뿌리혹선충(M. javanica) 등 4종이 주요 피해를 주는 해충으로 알려져 있다(Kim et al. 2001). 선충에 의한 피해는 선충이 기주식물 뿌리를 통해 침입하여 식물의 양분을 흡수함으로써 식물이 쇠약해져 수량이나 품질이 떨어진다고 하였다(Kim 2001, Seo & Kim 2017).
수박 재배에서 대목으로는 호박, 박, 야생수박 등이 사용되고 있다. 호박 대목에 접목된 수박은 박이나 야생수박 대목에 접목된 수박보다 뿌리 발육이 좋고 병저항성이나 저온, 건조 등 환경스트레스에 대한 저항성이 뛰어나지만 과번무와 기형과 발생 등 과실의 품질을 저하시켜 박 대목이 선호되고 있다(Yetışır et al. 2003, Karaca et al. 2012, Turhan et al. 2012). 박 대목은 수박과의 친화성은 좋지만 박 대목만을 특이적으로 가해하는 박 덩굴쪼김병균(Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lagenaria)에 의한 시들음증상이 발생되고 있다(Sakata et al. 2007). 야생수박에 접목된 수박의 경우 호박 대목에 접목된 수박에 비해 세력이 약하나 수박과의 접목친화성이 뛰어나 품질이 좋은 수박을 생산할 수 있다. 특히, 덩굴쪼김병이나 선충에도 저항성이 있는 자원들이 알려져 있다(Dane et al. 1998, Thies et al. 2015, Thies et al. 2016). 토양 전염성 병을 방제하기 위한 토양 살균제 개발이나 저항성 수박품종 육성 이전에 저항성 대목을 이용한 접목재배는 토양 전염성 병 문제를 단기간에 해결할 수 있는 대응책이 될 수 있다.
본 연구는 수박 재배시에 문제되는 덩굴쪼김병과 뿌리혹선충에 대한 저항성 자원을 선발하여 수박 대목용 품종 계통육성에 활용하고자 병 저항성 평가를 수행하였다.
실험 재료
수박 덩굴쪼김병과 뿌리혹선충 저항성 자원을 선발하고자 국립원예특작과학원 채소과에서 보유중인 수박 계통과 덩굴쪼김병과 뿌리혹선충에 저항성 후보 자원을 농업유전자원센터와 미국농무성에서 도입하여 총 32점을 선발하였고, 덩굴쪼김병균 race 2 (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum R2)와 뿌리혹선충(Meloidogyne incognita) 저항성 평가에 이용하였다(Table 1). 32점의 유전자원은 2019년 국립원예특작과학원 채소과 비닐하우스와 춘종묘의 태국 채종포장에서 자가 교배 및 세대 진전하여 종자를 채종하였다. 국립원예특작과학원 채소과 비닐하우스에서 재배한 수박은 과실의 모양, 과피색, 과육색, 과실당 종자수 등 과실의 특성을 조사하였다. 세대 진전한 자원들 중 덩굴쪼김병 저항성 후보50계통을 선발하여 덩굴쪼김병 race 2 (F. oxysporum f. sp. niveum)와 뿌리혹선충(M. incognita)에 대해 저항성 평가를 수행하였으며, 덩굴쪼김병 감수성 품종으로 스피드꿀수박(농우바이오)과 속노란꿀수박(제일종묘)을 뿌리혹선충 감수성 품종으로 스피드꿀수박을 사용하였다.
유묘 및 과일 특성 조사
수박 자원의 대목으로서의 특성을 평가하기 위해 접목이 이루어지는 유묘기 생육을 조사하였다. 원예용 상토(바이오상토 1호, 흥농)를 채운 50구 플러그 트레이에 수박 종자를 자원당 10립씩 파종하였고 상토가 충분히 젖을 정도로 두상관수 하였다. 파종 13일 이후부터 21일까지 떡잎이 완전히 전개되었을 때 유묘의 하배축 길이 및 두께, 떡잎의 엽장, 엽폭을 조사하였다. 대조품종으로 스피드꿀수박(신젠타종묘), 속노란꿀수박(제일종묘), 대목용 수박인 오작교(신젠타종묘)를 사용하였다.
과일의 특성을 조사하기 위하여 국립원예특작과학원 채소과 포장 비닐하우스에 정식 후 본엽 4~5엽기에 적심하여 원줄기와 아들2줄기를 선택하여3줄기를 유인하여 재배하였다. 15~21절위의 암꽃에 자가수분 후 유산지로 씌워 다른 꽃가루에 의한 오염을 방지하였다. 주당 3과를 착과 시킨 후 건전한 1과를 남기고 나머지 2과는 적과하였다. 수정 45일 후에 과일을 수확하여 과실의 모양, 과피색, 과육색 등을 조사 후 채종하여 과일 당 종자 수를 조사하였다.
덩굴쪼김병 배양 및 접종
덩굴쪼김병 병원균은 국립원예특작과학원 채소과에 보유 중인 수박 덩굴쪼김병 race 2인 Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum R2 균주를 사용하였다. 덩굴쪼김병은 PDA배지에서 25℃에서 7일간 배양하였다. PDA배지에서 자란 균총은 8 mm균사조각을 떼어 500 mL V8 juice broth 배지에 접종하여 25℃에서 100 rpm 으로 5일간 배양하였다. V8 juice broth는 V8 juice 100 mL, CaCO3 3 g, 증류수 900 mL을 이용하여 만들었으며, V8 juice는 4,000 rpm에서 15분간 원심분리하여 침전물을 제거 후 사용하였다. 5일간 배양한 균주 배양액은 4겹의 거즈로 균사체를 거른 후 4,000 rpm 에서 15분간 원심분리하여 배양액은 제거하고 포자만 수거하였다. 수거한 포자는 hemocytometer로 검경하였고 멸균수로 현탁하여 5×105 conidia/mL 농도로 접종하였다. 수박은 50구 플러그 트레이에 계통 당 10 립씩 파종하였다. 10일간 자란 유묘를 뽑아 뿌리 주변의 흙을 물로 세척하여 흙을 제거한 후 수박 덩굴쪼김병균 포자현탁액에 30분간 침지하여 접종하였다. 그리고, 50구 플러그 트레이에 원예용 상토(바이오상토 1호, 흥농)를 채우고 물을 충분히 뿌려 흙을 촉촉하게 만든 후에 접종된 수박 유묘를 옮겨 심었다. 접종된 유묘는 유리온실(25±5℃)에서 관리하였다
뿌리혹선충 배양 및 접종
뿌리혹선충은 고구마 뿌리혹선충(Meloidogyne incognita)을 국립원예특작과원 원예특작환경과에서 분양 받아 실험에 사용하였다. 뿌리혹선충은 고추 유묘를 활용하여 증식하였다. 증식은 직경 13.5 cm 높이 11.7 cm 플라스틱 화분에 45~50일된 고추(청양, 흥농)를 심고 1주일 후 활착이 되면 뿌리혹선충을 접종하여 50~60일간 뿌리혹이 형성되도록 관리하였다. 뿌리혹이 형성된 고추에서 뿌리혹선충 난낭을 수집하여 실험실에서 부화 후 2령 유충을 실험에 이용하였다.
뿌리혹선충 저항성 검정을 위해 수박을 50구 플러그 트레이에 파종하여 30일간 재배하였다. 재배한 수박 유묘는 모래와 원예용 상토(바이오상토 1호, 흥농)를 혼합(1:1, v/v)하여 채운 플라스틱 화분(직경 13.5 cm, 높이 11.7 cm)에 담아 정식하였다. 정식 1주후 활착 된 식물체에 뿌리혹선충 2령 유충을 화분 당 6,000마리 접종하였다. 접종 60일 후 뿌리를 뽑아 뿌리혹의 수와 난낭의 수를 조사하였다.
병 발병도 평가
덩굴쪼김병은 1주간격으로 4주간 발병 지수로 상황을 조사하였다. 저항성 평가는 발병 지수로 나타내었으며, 건전한 식물체를 0, 하위엽이 시들기 시작하여 시듦 정도가 약한 식물체를 1, 식물체의 50% 이상 심하게 시들은 식물체를 2, 고사한 식물체를 3으로 하여 총 4단계로 조사하였다. 평균 발병 정도가 1.0 이하를 저항성, 1.0~2.0이하를 중도 저항성, 2.0이상은 감수성으로 판단하였다.
뿌리혹선충 저항성 평가는 뿌리혹의 수와 난낭의 수가 감수성의 10% 이하 일 때를 저항성, 뿌리혹과 난낭의 수가 10~30%일 때를 중도저항성, 뿌리혹과 난낭의 수가 30% 이상일 때를 감수성으로 판단하였다.
수박 유전자원의 대목으로서 이용가능성을 평가하기 위해 유묘의 특성을 조사하였다(Table 2). 수박은 파종 6일후부터 발아되기 시작하였다. 하배축의 길이는 21.8~100 mm 범위였으며 PI299379-3이 21.8 mm로 가장 짧았으며, PI532811이 100 mm로 가장 길었다. 하배축의 두께는 1.4~3.6 mm 범위였으며 PI532811이 3.6 mm로 가장 두꺼웠다. 떡잎의 폭은 10.8~42.0 mm 범위였으며, 길이 대 폭의 비율이 1.2~1.9 로 다양하였다. PI296341-5는 대조품종 오작교에 비해 하배축의 길이가 23.5 mm로 짧고, 두께가 1.7 mm로 얇았으며 떡잎의 폭도 19 mm로 작았다. PI4579126-2는 오작교에 비해 하배축의 길이가 40.9 mm로 비슷하였으며, 하배축의 폭이 3.2 mm로 두꺼웠으며, 떡잎이 33.3 mm로 커서 대조품종인 오작교와 유의한 차이를 보였다. PI457916-5는 하배축의 길이 36.7 mm와 폭은 2.7 mm로 오작교와 유의한 차이가 없었으며, 떡잎의 폭은 31.9 mm로 오작교 25.9 mm 보다 커서 유의한 차이가 있었다.
수박의 덩굴쪼김병균(Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum)의 분화형은 0, 1, 2, 3 으로 총 4개 race가 보고되었다(Zhou et al. 2010). 우리나라에서는 race 3은 아직 보고된 바 없으며, race 0, 1, 2가 보고되어 있는데 race 2가 가장 강한 병원성을 나타낸다(Kwon et al. 1998, Noh et al. 2014).
수박 유전자원을 증식 후 50계통을 선발하여 수박 덩굴쪼김병 race 2에 대한 저항성 평가를 수행한 결과, IT199860, PI296341-6, PI532811 3계통이 저항성으로 선발되었으며, PI494527 1계통이 중도저항성, IT188208 등 43계통이 감수성으로 판단되었다(Table 3). 접종 7일후부터 병징이 나타나기 시작하여 저항성으로 판단된 계통은 접종 4주후에도 건전하였으나, 감수성 계통은 초기에 하위엽부터 시들기 시작하여 식물체 전체가 시들다가 이후에 고사하였다(Fig. 1). PI271769와 PI296341은 덩굴쪼김병 저항성으로 알려져 있다(Netzer & Martyn 1989, Martyn & Netzer 1991, Dane et al. 1998, Boyhan et al. 2003). 본 연구에서는 발아율이 떨어져 저항성 정도를 평가하기 어려웠다. Martyn & Netzer (1991)은 PI296341-FR이 신선한 종자의 경우 발아율이 10% 미만이었으나 2~3달 후 85~95%까지 회복된다고 보고하였다. PI271769와 PI296341은 채종 후 당해년도에 발아가 잘 되지 않았으며 3개월 이후 최종 발아율은 20~30% 정도였다. 덩굴쪼김병 평가는 묘령에 따라 저항성 정도가 달라질 수 있어 파종 10일차에 모든 자원에서 평가를 진행하였으며, 두 자원은 파종 10일 후까지 발아가 되지 않아 평가가 어려웠다. Boyhan et al. (2003)은 수박 덩굴쪼김병 검정에서 병원균을 주사기를 이용하여 수박 줄기에 주입하는 방법으로 접종하였으며 PI385964는 덩굴쪼김병 저항성으로 평가되었으나, 이번 연구에서 PI385964-1, PI385964-5 2계통이 모두 감수성으로 평가되었다. 그리고, PI296341는 덩굴쪼김병 저항성으로 알려져 있으나 접종 결과 감수성으로 평가되었다. 저항성 평가 결과가 다른 이유는 유전자원의 재배 환경, 병원균의 배양과 접종 방법, 덩굴쪼김병균의 병원성 등 여러 요인에 의해 차이가 있을 수 있다(Boyhan et al. 2003). 덩굴쪼김병은 토양 전염성 균으로 주사기를 이용하여 줄기에 접종하는 것 보다 보편적으로 사용하는 뿌리 침지 접종 방법이 가장 균일하게 병을 발병 시킬 수 있다고 하였다(Jo et al. 2015).
PI296341-FR에서 수박 덩굴쪼김병 race 2에 대한 저항성 유전자는 고정되어 있지 않고 소수의 주동유전자와 여러 개의 열성유전자간의 상호작용에 의해 지배된다고 하였다(Zhang & Rhodes 1993). 수박 덩굴쪼김병 race 0에 중도저항성을 나타낸 속노란꿀수박은 온도에 따라 저항성 정도에 차이를 나타내어 양적 저항성(quantitative resistance)으로 추정하였다(Jo et al. 2017). 덩굴쪼김병 저항성으로 판단된 유전자원 중 일부 개체는 시들어 고사하는 개체가 있어 저항성을 나타내는 계통들은 세대 진전을 통해 저항성을 고정할 계획이다.
수박 덩굴쪼김병 race 1에 저항성은 우성 단인자에 의해 지배 되는 것으로 알려져 있다(Netzer & Weintall 1980). 그러나, 덩굴쪼김병 race 2에 대한 저항성은 PI296341-FR에서 열성유전자와 다수의 미동유전자에 의해 지배된다고 알려져 높은 수준의 저항성을 지닌 상업용 품종 육종이 어려움이 있다고 하였다(Martyn 2014). 그런 이유로 덩굴쪼김병 race 0과 race 1에 대해 저항성을 지닌 상업 품종이 많이 시판되고 있지만, 가장 병원성이 강한 race 2에 대한 저항성을 지닌 품종은 아직 보급되지 않고 있다. 야생종 수박 유전자원 중 PI271769, PI296341과 PI296341-FR이 Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum race 2에 강한 저항성으로 알려져 있다(Netzer & Martyn 1989, Martyn & Netzer 1991, Dane et al. 1998). 덩굴쪼김병 평가 결과 저항성으로 평가된 IT199860, PI296341-6, PI532811 3계통 중 PI296341-6 계통은 기존에 알려진 연구결과와 같이 덩굴쪼김병 저항성을 확인 할 수 있었다(Martyn & Netzer 1991, Boyhan et al. 2003). IT199860, PI532811계통은 기존에 알려지지 않은 새로운 덩굴쪼김병 저항성 자원으로 매년 덩굴쪼김병 저항성 검정 후 저항성 개체는 자가교배로 세대진전하여 IT199860은 6세대, PI532811은 5세대까지 진전하고 있으며, 이 계통은 저항성 유전자 탐색과 더불어 덩굴쪼김병 저항성 대목용 수박 육성을 위한 재료로 활용 될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
뿌리혹선충 저항성 수박 자원 선발을 위해서 수박 덩굴쪼김병 검정을 한 50계통에 대해서 뿌리혹선충 저항성 평가를 하였다. 뿌리혹선충 저항성 검정 결과 PI296341-5, PI457916-2, PI457916-5 3계통이 저항성으로 평가되었으며, IT188208 등 11계통이 중도저항성, IT199860 등 36계통이 감수성으로 평가되었다(Table 4). PI457916은 뿌리혹선충에 가장 강한 저항성을 확인 할 수 있었다(Fig. 2). PI296341, PI457916 자원은 이미 뿌리혹선충에 저항성으로 알려진 자원들로 이번 결과에서도 난낭이 2개 이하로 형성이 되어 강한 저항성을 확인 할 수 있었다(Boyhan et al. 2003, Cohen et al. 2014). 뿌리혹선충 저항성으로 평가된 PI296341은 C. amarus이며, PI457916은 C. mucosospermus이다. 수박은 Citrullus 종간에 서로 교배가 가능하다(Fehér 1993). 따라서, 본 연구에서 저항성으로 평가된 PI296341과 PI457916의 형질은 대부분 식용 수박인 C. lanatus 종과 교배가 가능하며 대목으로 사용할 경우 수박과 친화성이 좋아 우수한 품질의 수박을 생산할 수 있을 것이다. 수박 대목으로 많이 이용되는 박이나 호박은 뿌리혹선충 방제 효과가 없었으나, 야생수박을 대목으로 사용하였을 때 뿌리혹선충 방제에 효과가 있었다(Thies et al. 2010). 뿌리혹선충의 발병이 심한 곳에서는 뿌리혹선충 저항성 수박 대목을 이용한다면 수박의 안정적인 생산에 기여 할 것으로 판단된다.
토마토의 뿌리혹선충에 대한 저항성 유전자는 야생 토마토 Lycopersicum peruvianum에서 Mi 유전자를 L. esculentum과 종간 교배한 후 배 배양을 통해 상업용 토마토에 도입할 수 있었다(Milligan et al. 1998, Seah et al. 2004). 고추에서는 뿌리혹선충 저항성에 관련한 여러 유전자 군집에 대한 연구가 이루어 지고 있지만, 아직 저항성 유전자가 클로닝 되거나 저항성 유전자에 대한 정확한 역할에 대해서 보고되지 않고있다. 한편, 뿌리혹선충 저항성 고추 PR 205에서 유래한 저항성 유전자 CaMi를 형질전환시킨 토마토에서 뿌리혹선충을 감염시켰을 때 형질전환 되지 않은 감수성 식물과 비교해서 뿌리혹선충이 침입한 주변 세포가 괴사되거나 과민성반응을 일으키는 등의 저항성 반응을 나타내었다(Chen et al. 2007). 그러나, 수박에서는 뿌리혹선충 저항성 관련 유전자는 아직 보고되지 않고 있어 본 연구를 바탕으로 저항성 품종 육성과 유전자 탐색에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
덩굴쪼김병과 뿌리혹선충 저항성 평가를 한 계통들에 대해 수박 과실의 특성을 조사하였다(Table 5). 수박 덩굴쪼김병 race 2에 저항성인 IT199860은 장타원형으로 과육색은 노란색이었으며 과일 당 종자는 평균 414립이었다. PI532811은 둥근형태로 과피는 줄무늬를 가진 녹색이었으며 과육색은 흰색이었고 과일 당 종자수는 평균 182립이었다. 수박 덩굴쪼김병과 뿌리혹선충 저항성인 PI296341의 과일은 둥근형태로 줄무늬가 있는 연한녹색을 띄었으며 과육은 흰색이었고 과일 당 종자수는 평균 635립이었다. 뿌리혹선충 저항성인 PI457916은 둥근 형태로 줄무늬를 가진 녹색을 띠고 과육색은 노란색에 과일 당 종자는 129립이었다.
덩굴쪼김병 race 1에 저항성인 Calhoun Gray와 Fascination과 race 2 에 저항성인 PI296341-FR 에 뿌리혹선충을 같이 접종하였을 때 뿌리혹선충을 접종하지 않았을 때 보다 덩굴쪼김병의 병징이 빠르고 심하게 나타났다(Hua et al. 2019). 자원이 가지고 있는 덩굴쪼김병 저항성이 뿌리혹선충에의해 무너질 수 있기 때문에 뿌리혹선충이 감염된 토양에서는 기주 저항성 만으로는 덩굴쪼김병을 관리하는데 충분하지 않다고 하였다. 그래서, 수박에서 덩굴쪼김병과 뿌리혹선충에 저항성인 자원을 선발하려는 노력은 있었으나 두 병해에 동시에 저항성인 자원은 선발할 수 없었다(Boyhan et al. 2003). 본 연구에서 수박 덩굴쪼김병 race 2 저항성 3계통(IT199860, PI296341-6, PI532811)과 고구마 뿌리혹선충에 저항성이 강한 3계통(PI296341-5, PI457916-2, PI457916-5)을 선발하였다. PI296341-6은 덩굴쪼김병에 저항성이었으며 뿌리혹선충에도 중도저항성으로 평가되어 덩굴쪼김병과 뿌리혹선충에 강한 품종 육성에 유용한 재료가 될 수 있을 것이다. IT199860와 PI532811은 C. lanatus 종이며, PI296341은 C. amarus종이며, PI457916은 C. mucosospermus종이다. 비록 종이 다르지만 종간 교배가 용이하여 덩굴쪼김병과 뿌리혹선충에 강한 자원 육성에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
수박은 덩굴쪼김병 등의 토양 전염성 병해를 예방하고 비생물적 스트레스에 대한 저항성 증진을 위해 접목 재배를 하고 있다. 뿌리혹선충은 수박을 포함한 박과 채소 재배 시 경제적 손실을 일으키는 주요 해충이다. 토양 전염성 병충해를 경감하는 가장 효과적인 방법은 저항성 품종을 재배하는 것이다. 따라서 덩굴쪼김병 및 뿌리혹선충 저항성 대목용 자원선발을 위해 수박 유전자원 50계통에 대해 덩굴쪼김병과 뿌리혹선충 저항성 평가를 수행하였다. 수박 덩굴쪼김병은 파종 10일된 유묘에 단근침지법으로 접종하여 4주간 저항성 정도를 평가하였다. 뿌리혹선충은 파종 37일된 유묘에 접종하고 60일 후에 저항성 정도를 평가하였다. 덩굴쪼김병 접종 결과 3계통(IT199860, PI296341-6, PI532811)이 수박 덩굴쪼김병 race 2에 저항성으로 선발되었으며, 1 계통 (PI494527)이 중도저항성으로 평가되었다. 뿌리혹선충에는 3계통(PI296341-5, PI457916-2, PI457916-5)이 저항성으로 선발되었다. PI296341-6 계통은 덩굴쪼김병에 저항성, 뿌리혹선충에 중도저항성으로 평가되었다. 선발된 저항성 자원들은 덩굴쪼김병과 뿌리혹선충 저항성 대목 육종에 활용할 계획이다.
